Reflection

Yes people, I hope you are all well! This is my final blog before Christmas break, and I am going to be reflecting on my semester, specifically the workshop I took part in for Digital Economy, in college.  For anyone that has been reading since day 1 (I know who you guys are) you would have seen different topics that I touch on week on week. These were the same topics that I studied in class. I found blogging about the topics afterwards enabled me to learn more and retain what my lecturer spoke about.  We were faced with the challenge of preparing and executing a workshop for our class. This began with us making a group of five. Firstly, we learned what a Gantt Chart was, and created our own. This showed a breakdown of the different parts of the project we each did and if it was individual work or team work. I found it really satisfying to see the different pieces of it come together.  Our topic for the workshop was "Enterprise Applications" and we were the first group up...

The use of Artificial Intelligence in Business

Hi guys, welcome back to this weeks blog, all about AI in business.

Years ago, if the term Artificial Intelligence was brought up, people would think of a futuristic concept seen in the likes of sci-fi movies. However, now, AI is seamlessly wrapped into our everyday lives, and businesses avail of this every single day. The use of AI in businesses has revolutionised the activities in a business, improving efficiency and output.

Fundamentally, artificial intelligence (AI) is the creation of computer systems that can carry out operations that usually call for human intelligence. These tasks encompass a spectrum, from basic rule-based activities to complex problem-solving and learning from experiences. In the business world, AI is driving a technological revolution by providing solutions that go beyond standard automation.

AI's capacity to evaluate large datasets at rates beyond human comprehension is one of its main advantages. Businesses leverage AI algorithms to extract insights from mountains of information, driving decision-makers with a more comprehensive understanding of market trends, customer behaviors, and operational dynamics. This results in more timely, better-informed judgments that can provide an edge over competitors. For one of my college modules, I did a project on Burberry and I learned how they have implemented AI to benefit their company.

AI is so good at processing and analyzing data that it can also figure out what each individual customer wants.  Businesses harness this capability to deliver hyper-personalized experiences, tailoring products, services, and marketing strategies to the unique needs and tastes of each customer. n a time when individualized interaction is critical, the outcome is not only consumer satisfaction but also the development of brand loyalty.

Routine, repetitive tasks that once consumed significant manpower are now being automated with AI. This lowers operating expenses while simultaneously freeing up staff members to work on more intricate, high-value tasks. Businesses are experiencing previously unheard-of productivity improvements, whether it is through chatbots answering customer inquiries or AI-driven robotic process automation optimizing back-office processes.

AI's predictive capabilities enable businesses to anticipate future trends and behaviors. AI systems can forecast market trends, improve inventory management, and even anticipate probable equipment breakdowns in manufacturing and other businesses by evaluating previous data. This foresight is invaluable, empowering businesses to proactively strategize and mitigate risks.

Artificial Intelligence is a valuable tool for bolstering cybersecurity protocols in a time when cyber threats are ubiquitous. Its capacity to spot abnormalities, recognize patterns suggestive of cyberattacks, and react quickly provides an additional line of defense against ever-changing threats.

AI is being used in business as a revolutionary force, not merely a tool, as we approach the dawn of a new era. The path ahead calls for increased integration, investigation of AI in cutting-edge applications, and ethical deliberations to guarantee responsible AI implementation. The businesses that embrace and navigate this evolving landscape will not only survive but thrive in the age of artificial intelligence. The future is not just AI-enabled; it's AI-driven, and the possibilities are limitless.
